How to Back Up Your IPTV Settings & Playlists
Two complementary backup paths — automatic versioned snapshot history (Premium) and one-click JSON export (Free + Premium).
Method 1 — Snapshot history (automatic, Premium only)
Every time you save changes to your playlists, EPG sources, or settings, the previous full state is automatically archived. The latest 5 versions are kept indefinitely.
To restore: go to /dashboard/history. You see a list of all archived snapshots with timestamps and the device that wrote each one. Click any to preview the diff vs your current state. Click Restore to apply — every device picks up the rollback on its next sync. The current state is itself archived before the rollback, so a wrong restore is also recoverable.
Method 2 — JSON export (manual, Free + Premium)
From /dashboard/account click "Download my data". You get a JSON file containing your full snapshot — playlists, EPG sources, settings, history metadata, account ID. Save it locally as your offline backup. Suitable as a manual recovery snapshot, as a GDPR data-export, or as a portable copy before deleting your account.
Method 3 — On-device export from the TV app
The Android TV app's Account → Export creates a local backup that runs entirely on-device, no server roundtrip. Useful if you're sideloading the app on a network-restricted device or want a backup before factory-resetting the TV.
Restoring from a JSON export
Currently restore-from-JSON is a manual process — email support@syncdaddyiptv.example with the JSON attached and we'll import it for you. Self-service restore-from-JSON is on the roadmap.
